SPRINGFIELD

Springfield, located just a 50-minute drive north of Indian Point, is Missouri’s third largest city and offers some exciting day-trip adventures:

Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World is billed as the "world’s greatest sporting goods store". This amazing outdoor recreation complex features a Fish and Wildlife Museum, aquariums filled with fish- including a 30,000 gallon saltwater aquarium, daily fish feeding shows, a 4-story waterfall, Hemingway’s Blue Water Café, an indoor archery, rifle and handgun range, boat and RV showroom, and of course a huge sporting goods store stocked with practically every kind of outdoor recreation equipment. Outdoor World is a must see for outdoor enthusiasts.

Exotic Animal Paradise is a drive-through park where hundreds of wild animals roam free, creating close-encounters right up to your car’s windows.

The Dickerson Park Zoo offers a more traditional animal park experience and is nationally recognized for its breeding of elephants, bald eagles and cheetahs.

Wilson’s Creek National Battlefield, a major civil war site, and General Sweeney’s Museum of Civil War History are of special interest to American history and civil war buffs.
